Emergency Relief Hero Background

Discover Our Roots

From Tragedy
to Action.

We turned a devastating moment of loss into a beacon of hope, rebuilding communities and restoring futures across Uganda.

The spark that ignited
a movement.

Our journey began under the darkest of circumstances when our founder, Muhereza Augustine, witnessed a devastating fire ravage a local school dormitory. In a matter of minutes, hundreds of vulnerable children were left without belongings, traumatized, and deeply displaced.

This harrowing trauma sparked an overwhelming sense of empathy and a profound vow to extend a helping hand to fire victims across the nation. Fire Victim Friends (FVF) was born out of the ashes—established specifically to provide support, relief, and advocacy to victims in Uganda.

Recognizing the uniquely devastating impact that sudden fires have on deeply interconnected communities, we aim to bridge the critical gap in emergency response, comprehensive rehabilitation, and successful reintegration into society.
